The broadsides against Romney have less to do with his flip-flops and more to do with Evangelical aversions to his Mormonism. Think it’s just the elites that are bringing it up? Hold your nose and peer through this search at Free Republic the only real right-wing online community. That’s the coveted Republican base.
Instead of dwelling on Romney’s chances it seems much more appropriate to start the Romney campaign death watch. Will he even be able to “officially announce” in January as his staff starts bailing ship? Can he land a jab or two against McCain before leaving in February? Can Romney limp to the first primaries?

* It’s official: Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney will announce that he’s running for President as soon as the week of January 8th, a Romney adviser tells the Associated Press. “The timing is somewhat dependent on when Sen. John McCain of Arizona makes an expected announcement about his own campaign for the GOP nomination,” the AP says, citing the Romney aide.

Why do evangelicals hate Mittie the Morman?
After all. he believes in the same Jesus they do, albeit, a slightly twisted, somewhat unrecognizable one.
I mean, it’s not like he’s a Muslim or some other non-white, anti-American religious freak.
I say let Mitt into the big GOP circus tent.
