The latest national Quinnipiac poll looks pretty good for Giuliani and generally better for Republicans than other recent polls.

The Q-Poll shows Giuliani beating Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John Edwards in head to head matchups. It also shows John McCain beating Clinton, but tying Obama and Edwards. Meanwhile, Romney gets trounced by the entire top tier of the Democratic field:

Clinton 49%
Romney 37
Obama 49%
Romney 29
Edwards 48%
Romney 32

The Q-Poll looks to be a bit of an outlier right now, though it is a full scale national poll with a ton of information to be analyzed. I left off trends, which are spaced so far apart they’re relatively meaningless, as well as the demographic breakdowns along party, gender, religious, and location lines.

One thing that I found fascinating was that 62% of White Evangelical Born Again voters had a favorable opinion of Rudy Giuliani and only 16% viewed him unfavorably. If the social issues of abortion, gay rights, and stem cell policy become issues in 2008,  I’ll be shocked if Giuliani’s favorables in this segment don’t drop.

Something to say?
