Strong enough to force Giuliani to change a position he’s held, one that he’s on video supporting, one that he said Republican and he would have to “learn to disagree over.” Giuliani flips on civil unions.

You expected it from Romney but not Giuliani.

“In this specific case the law states same sex civil unions are the equivalent of marriage and recognizes same sex unions from outside states. This goes too far and Mayor Giuliani does not support it”

giuliani came out a specific case, not all civil unions, and once again, the frightened liberals who know they cannont defeat him on strength and results, smear him with more lies.

lower case matt – i know you love giuliani but you’re not really buying that spin are you? The guy was %100 for civil unions and suddenly at the first site of Fred Thompson he goes releases a wingnut statement as fast as he can. I mean really. It’s like partial birth abortion, he flipped and flopped for the religious right. Nothing wrong with that is there?

kinda like voting for the war, and then flipping like edwards and clinton??? no, the whole point is that a civil union should be different then a marriage, and in this specific case it is virtually a marriage in everything but name, and he has always opposed gay marriage.

btw, new swing state polls, double digit lead for ready against all dems in florida, pa, nj, and 6 point lead in ohio. no wonder dean attacked his personal life in another sad liberal display.

lower case matt, a civil union is marriage by another name. Which is why I think gay marriage should be allowed. Even the conservative NY sun which ran the story said it’s a flip flop. He’s trying to make a distinction that’s not there. He’s trying to pander to the religious right because if he can win the nomination he thinks he’ll win the whole thing. (separate issue, he won’t though)

giuliani wins the whole thing easy if he gets the nomination. the democratic party has moved so far to the left, the blue dogs are just itching to jump to rudy. look at the swing state polls, the popular vote may be close, but against rudy, libs are facing an electoral landslide.

This has been another installment of “lower case matt.”

PA – Rudy up 10 on clinton/obama
NJ- Rudy up 9 on clinton/obama
FA- Rudy up 10 on clinton/obama
OH- Rudy up 6 on clinton/obama

ouch

I love the formula of this post and subsequent thread.

Step 1: A Giuliani scandal, flip-flop, or other negative coverage comes up.*

Step 2: lower case matt defends Giuliani for whatever he’s being criticized for.

Step 3. lower case matt accuses Democrats of doing whatever it is Giuliani just did.

Step 4: lower case matt quotes poll numbers that show Giuliani beating Democratic candidates. This is usually accompanied with “ouch” or a proclamation of victory over the world that hates him.

Step 5: Repeat on a new thread.

*NB: This step is not necessary for lower case matt to engage in subsequent steps in a thread.

another accomplished rebuttal, far better to attack the poster then , ya know, actually formulate an arguement. but then again, that would require rational thought and common sense, two things absent from the minds of this sites’ authors.

Something to say?
