The New York Post reports today that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani refuses to sign a pledge not to raise taxes should he be elected president.

Seven have signed the “Taxpayer Protection Pledge” – including former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who is running well in the early primary-voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire.

This could hurt Giuliani, who frequently refers to columnist George Will’s characterization of his tenure as mayor as “one of the most conservative” in New York City due to his tax-slashing style.
