Elitist Actor Fop, Fred Thompson, who as a uber-connected D.C. lobbyist, is also a member of the Libby Defense Trust, released a statement applauding the Cheney Administration’s uncheckable Plenary Powers:
“I am very happy for Scooter Libby. I know that this is a great relief to him, his wife and children. While for a long time I have urged a pardon for Scooter, I respect the President’s decision. This will allow a good American, who has done a lot for his country, to resume his life.”
By the way, Fred is totally wearing lipstick in that picture where it looks like he’s portraying Benedict Arnold. Tangentially, Thompson starred in an episode of Sex and the City titled, “Politically Erect.”
Adding to the questions from Paul’s post, I would ask of Hollywood Freddie, “In what way do the crimes Mr. Libby committed for the Administration differ from what Mr. Libby did for the country?”
He was asked, during the course of his duties to break the law. That’s what he did for the country. And now Fred Thompson and the rest of the Libby Defense Trust will pay the fine for him.

He hardly “starred” in that episode of Sex & the City. His role is credited as “politician on TV.” I’ve see the episode several times and didn’t even remember that he was in it.
But the guy is pro-obstruction-of-justice by his Rethuglican friends (dating back to his tipping off Richard Nixon about the White House tapes in the Watergate era) so at least he’s consistent about spitting in the face of representative government and the justice system.

Something to say?

He did go a bit heavy with the bronzer.
How nice that we have this photo ready to go and don’t even have to go to the trouble of photoshopping!
