Wizbang politics reports on hints about Republican Q2 fundraising numbers, which won’t be release for another couple of days. Giuliani is said to have raised about $19 million, putting him just ahead of Romney’s rumored $18 million. These numbers represent the total raised, and say nothing about burn rate, number of contributors, or how much is available for the primary election. In any event, that raw number is a disappointment for Romney, despite his campaign’s recent efforts to lower expectations. And I can’t imagine his burn rate looks very good, either.
Wizbang also reports that Fred Thompson has raised about $5 million for his “exploratory” efforts, suggesting that the total is “not very impressive in this cycle.” But it sure isn’t bad for somebody who’s just testing the waters, is it?
Something to say?
