CNN has more precise numbers on Giuliani’s spending during the last quarter. Overall he spent about $15 million in Q2:
Giuliani’s rate of spending, or “burn rate,” more than doubled from 34 percent in the first quarter to 75 percent in the second quarter, largely due to an effort to set up field operations beyond the early states of Iowa and New Hampshire. The campaign’s overall burn rate for 2007 is 59 percent.
According to Giuliani campaign manager Mike DuHaime, the campaign now has field operations set up in a dozen states, including the delegate-rich states of Florida and California, which will hold their primaries earlier than ever before.
The article also notes that Rudy is claiming to have raised about $1.3 million online since the beginning of the year. By way of comparison, Barack Obama raised $10.3 million online in the second quarter alone. Again, Giuliani has yet to demonstrate that his high favorables will translate to widespread grassroots support.

Something to say?

comparisons with the democrats are really pointless. rudy isn’t out there competing with barrack hussein allah akbar obama, he is competing with mccain, romney, and thompson. obama can go ahead and raise a billion if he likes, he still wont beat hillary. the clintons wont allow obama, or the liberal base to have their way. rudy and the republicans can feel good, knowing that the best hatchet team(clinton machine) in the country will tear into obama without the republicans having to ever think about him.
and everyone knows, once hillary is the candidate, the republican base will come out in droves, cash in hand, in an effort to beat her. barrack is the hope of the democrat party, and leave it to the clintons to destroy that hope, oh how sweet it is.
