CNN reports that Tom Tancredo’s campaign is refusing to back down from the candidate’s statement that bombing Muslim holy sites would be a good “deterrent” to stop Islamic terrorists from attacking the United States. Tancredo, a member of the United States Congress, apparently has such a weak grasp on foreign policy and security issues that he is unable to imagine how a real government might go about dealing with the threat of terrorism, and is reduced to muttering pool-hall threats. The State Department called Tancredo’s remarks “reprehensible” and “absolutely crazy,” but the Colorado Representative’s campaign seemed to be rather proud of them:

This shows that we mean business,” said Bay Buchanan, a senior Tancredo adviser.

No, Bay, it shows that you’re batshit insane.

As a Muslim, I get ill at reading, hearing or seeing any holy sites being destroyed even if it’s by the hands of those who claim to be adherents of their respectful beliefs.

Statements such as these are those of irresponsible and ignorant rationale…The politician may well have placed his own head on the block as well as those of us Americans who support our troops but not this sort of diatribe.

Tancredo got it all wrong. We should not bomb Mecca after a terrorist attack. We should do it now.

BBCockoff-

What would that accomplish?

The Americans took out 2 countries for 3000 american dead.

WHat will AMerica do if a city goes up. I tremble to think what would happen. Glad I am not a Muslim

Chiek, What about the thousands of killings in the name of Islam that happen every week, doesnt that make you ill?

sorry for the late response John. Yes I do get ill hearing about the thousands of lives lost in the name or Islam, Christianity, Nationalism, bigotry, xenophobia, greed, politics, land and any other reason given to unlawfully take lives. Sadly, this is the nature of human beings. We just can’t seem to get along with each other.

Something to say?
