The inimitable DMI blog has been doing a great series on the presidential candidates’ positions on education. Today: Ron Paul.

So where does Ron Paul stand on education? Basically, he’s agin’ it.

laugh if you want, but ask any teacher how No Child Left Behind is working out for their school.

Also, Paul is only against federal intervention in the school system, he’s got no problem with state and local insitutions.

Plus, how many federal universities are there anyways? Not a lot.

How many federal elementary schools are there? Not a lot.

I’m no defender of NCLB, but here’s a brain teaser: why is it that all the countries to whom we’re losing ground — in Europe and Asia — have highly centralized, nationally-funded education systems?

Before you rely on someone else’s interpretation of Congressman Paul’s position, check out his 40+ articles and speeches on education in the past decade here:

The more I read, the more rational he seems.

Ron Paul would allow me to make choices in how my children are educated. Ron Paul is for education. We don’t need those in Washington telling us how to raise our kids.

Something to say?
