Building that support by paying a visit to the Butter Cow. Sorry, Fred, I don’t think the cow can vote in the primary.

thompson has no shot, the expectations got way out of hand, and now they are trying to weather that. the nomination will come down to rudy vs romney, with romney winning some key early states, but rudy ralling and winning alot, if not all, the biggest delegate rich states.
with the primary at his back, giuliani will select his friend john mccain as his running mate. giuliani/mccain will go on to defeat clinton/richardson in the general, holding all the bush states from 04 and picking up pennsylvania and new jersey.
giuliani will likely replace mccain when he runs for reelection in 2012 against senator barrack hussein obama, who will be the consensus democratic nominee.
A Rudy Giuilani primary victory would be a blessing for the Democrats. Rudy has so much stuff hanging in his closet (quite litterally from some reports) that if the Democratic political consultant class would somehow grow a spine, a pair, etc, they can use Rudy’s personal history as a screwdriver to dismantle his campaign in the general.
As for McCain as VP? I wouldn’t count on that either. He is a war hawk, another inconvenient truth than can be used against the GOP.
Right now all bets are on Fred Thompson, **IF** he can get his campaign off the ground. If ole’ Fred’s campaign fails to grow wings, my bet goes with the generic Democratic candidate, unless Ron Paul wins the GOP primary nom (which is unlikely).

the idea that democrats, who will be supporting the clintons, will be able to attack the personal history of rudy is ridiculous. how does a clinton support attack rudy about his marriage or alledged affair? will they ask bill to get up and leave the room first? the truth is a sketchy personal life is the only weapon they have against rudy. resume, record, accomplishments, results, all side with giuliani. clinton has done what exactly as a senator? for that matter what has thompson done? giuliani is a fierce campaigner and debator, and no mud slinging from the clintons will compare to the fierce ny media giuliani handled for 8 years. telflon rudy, the mud will not stick, especially when it comes the from slimey hands of the clintons.
Maybe Thompson’s goal is to catch some of that left over Dole ‘96 magic.

Just how do you get to shake hands and connect to people while you cruise by in a golf cart? Hum. I guess it is a good way to travel if you don’t want to get tired. It would be alot easier.
I hear that campaigning is a lot of work. Hum. This doesn’t help him fight his lazy label.
