Rudy Giuliani canned his finance chief today. Does this mean we should expect less-than-stellar, by GOP 2008 measures, fundraising figures for this quarter?
In a sign of potential money woes, Rudy Giuliani has fired his presidential campaign’s chief fundraiser and brought in a top rainmaker for President Bush, The Daily News has learned.
Anne Dunsmore, who took control of Giuliani’s day-to-day fundraising operation in May, has been replaced by Jim Lee, a Texas money man and Bush ally who is already one of Giuliani’s national finance co-chairs.
Earlier this week, “rogue” supporters held fundraisers suggesting $9.11 per donation, a reference to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks; an event exploited without end that it is the entire basis of the Giuliani campaign. (When people say “9/11 changed everything,” Rudy Giuliani is dead-set on proving it.)
If Giuliani’s numbers are low, he will have wished they suggested $254 donations instead.

and of course, since this dismal site only ever gives part of the story, here’s the real deal:
‘While dismissing the head of your fundraising operation is usually a bad sign for a campaign, Giuliani is believed to have done quite well in the third quarter.
“I think we’ll end up having a very good quarter,” added Giuliani Tuesday evening. “Probably one of the best of the Republicans.”
The former New York Mayor also took time to comment on the reported $9.11 fundraiser some of his supporters had organized in California, saying it was a “mistake.”
“It was an unfortunate thing to do, they shouldn’t have done it that way. I think it was only two or three of them that did it and they stopped.”
Giuliani added that the campaign “will not accept any contributions that are denominated 9 dollars and 11 cents.”
“We have put a block on our system that even if someone does that by mistake, we won’t do that too,” said Giuliani.
Later this evening Giuliani heads to Wachtung, New Jersey, where he will take part in a live webcast for his campaign’s “National House Party Night”. There will be 1,000 house parties across the country were supporters will get behind the former mayor, both financially and physically. ‘
matt, how old are you and what do you do for a living? Nothing against you, just curious.
im graphic designer in my twenties, you?
You know Matt is right on this one the story should have been on Rudy moving up in New Hampshire. It is a virtual tie between Rudy and Mitt there now.
IF Rudy’s third quarter fundraising totals are down…. then this will be a story. We will just have to wait and see.
matt, political consultant (guess for which side), also in my 20’s.
Something to say?

so this is more of your skilled ‘covering’ of the campaign huh? rudy is going to win the quarter, and her dismissal had nothing to do with money.
the real story of the campaign, if this site actaully ‘covered’ the rights field, is that rudy has surged in new hampshire, erasing romeny’s 14 point lead in just 2 months. coupled with his huge leads in the big delegate sates, huge cash-on-hand edge, lead in all national polls, and favorable numbers that lead both fields, a new hampshire win seals it for rudy.
add in the fact that rudy was referenced again and again in the demosocialist debate, showing the fear the horrendous democrat candidates have of our next president.
btw, obama was horrrrrrible again. thats what inspires dems??? lol. hillary has it locked up, which in turn, guarentees a giuliani victory.
