John McCain, who used to have a mind of his own, is planning to attack the Democrats on Iraq today. Here’s some of what he’ll say:
To concede defeat — as many leading Democrats now advocate — would strengthen al Qaeda, empower Iran and other hostile powers in the Middle East, unleash a full-scale civil war in Iraq that could quite possibly provoke genocide there, and destabilize the entire region as neighboring powers come to the aid of their favored factions.
Strengthen al Qaeda? Empower Iran? Unleash civil war? Destablize the region? McCain is giving the Democrats too much credit — the Bush administration’s war has already accomplished all those things.
Something to say?
