The New York City Council has responded to legitimate questions over emergency radios used on 9/11 that resulted in the unnecessary deaths of dozens of firefighters, and has vowed an investigation.
Eric Gioia is basically the Henry Waxman of New York City, the chair of the Oversight and Investigations Committee. Here’s what he needs to investigate:
Why was nothing done to improve FDNY radio performance for seven years after a clear need was demonstrated in the 1993 World Trade Center attack?
When new radios were finally ordered, why did the city award a contract to Motorola without a competitive bidding process?
Once Motorola was given the contract, why did its cost jump from $1.4 million to $14 million?
Why were these new radios never field tested?
These are serious questions about preparedness and emergency management that must be a part of a fuller picture of anyone who believes he should be President of the United States. Bottom line.

while Gioia is investigating, perhaps he will ask why President Clinton put the NY offices of the FBI, CIA, and Secret Service in building 7. if rudy is going to be attacked by the liberal slime machine because the command center was in WTC 7, then the clintons are even more to blame considering they had far better intel then giuliani.
why did the NYPD radios work? because the NYPD did a good job researching and testing their equipment. the IAFF failed their membership, chris dodd should be proud to stand with such incompetant leaders.
Something to say?

haha the swifty-boating of rudy continues with more of this ridiculous nonsense. all of a sudden Eric Gioia becomes interested in the radios. why not investigate in 2002? or 2003? or 04, 05, 06??? all of a sudden, Gioia has something to say. what a joke. this is being seen for what it is: a political stunt. everyone knows the mayor does not field test the equipment. the NYPD tested their own equipment. the responsibility fell on the FDNY and the IAFF. i guess the IAFF was too busy running democrat campaigns to actually take care of their members.
this pathetic attempt at revisionist history by partisan liberal activists hasn’t worked yet, and will continue to backfire.
$100 bucks Gioia endorces Clinton
