The November Blog’s Noah found an odd quote from Senator Kit Bond (R-Missouri) who, apparently, needs a refresher course on the U.S. Constitution:
“America is hungry for a President who will say what he means, and do what he says. The American people want and deserve a genuine leader, and that is Rudy Giuliani,” said U.S. Senator Kit Bond. “Rudy has the leadership qualities and the experience to handle whatever challenges America faces in the next 10 years.”
Uh, Kit, presidents can only serve eight years, not ten.
Or, Rudy is planning on pushing a constitutional amendment to expand presidential terms from four to five years each?

Matt, you are simply ignorant. The “text to years, started when Bond made the statement which lacks precision and influences two independent decades. Barack was precise in his word usage. And it is spelled Barack. You demonstrate your ignorance well.
uh van priest, how exactly does kit bond’s comments equate to giuliani persuing an amendment to expand presidential terms, as ortega suggested? do you have evidence of such a plan? can you display any proof at all?
didn’t think so.
Maybe he just expects President Rudy to succeed at doing what Mayor Rudy tried but failed to do: cancel the election to choose his successor and stay in office in violation of term limits.
actually all mayor giuliani did was try to enact existing laws in new york for emergency extensions. he did not ask for something that didn’t exist. he did not create the emergency expansion rules. polls showed the city overwhelmingly wanted him to stay, so it was reasonable considering the situation to consider enacting the existing law.
polls showed that giuliani would have won reelection in the biggest landslide in city history were he able to run for a third term.
the only politician to selfishly hold on to power long after he was capable of handling the job was Franklin Roosevelt (D). he rejected the pledge that Washington had taken, and every president after, and insisted on creating a monarch-like administration, refusing to step aside even after he was left a disabled cripple unable to perfom his duties. it was this gross overreach that lead to an amendment to the constitution to stop another power-mad individual from unjustly siezing control for more then 8 years.
Something to say?

is this “Orteeega’s How to Smear for Dummies”???
lets try one in orteeega style:
” that’s raised the stakes to the point where the decisions that we make in the next decade will determine the future of our children and the future of our grandchildren.”
Barrack Obama
the next decade? OMG!!! is barrack hussein obama planning on seizing power for a decade??? is he bringing about an orwellian future???
i guess the propaganda well is running dry today, or maybe this was all you could dig up after you spent the day sobbing after watching your heros arianna huffington and kiethe olbermann embarass themselves with an orteeega-esque rudy smear. nothing as sweet as watching oralman forced to apologize ahahahahahahahha.
